Brian McCarthy had a vision to use the beautiful words of Abraham Lincoln’s inaugural address combined with the American popular songs of the time often associated with the Civil War and adapt them in a contemporary improvised setting for a medium large ensemble. The result was a beautiful recording by a stellar ensemble I’m so proud to be a part of entitled, The Better Angels of Our Nature.
